]]Agnieszka Osiecka (b.october 9 1936 in Warsaw, Poland - d.march 7 1997)
was a Polish poet, journalist, and songwriter.
Osiecka wrote over 2000 songs during the course of her life, and her
numbers were enthusiastically performed by such artists as Maryla
Rodowicz, Slawa Przybylska, Seweryn Krajewski, Violetta Villas and
Krystyna Janda.
Married three times, Osiecka's first marriage was in 1963 to Wojciech
Frykowski. They divorced in 1964. Frykowski died in 1969, a victim of the
murders committed by Charles Manson and his followers. Her third marriage
to Polish journalist Daniel Passent bore the couple one daughter, Agata
Passent, in 1973.
She lived in the 1980s for a time in New York City and would visit the
U.S. more than a dozen times before her death from colon cancer at the age
of 60 in Warsaw. She is buried in Warsaw's Pow?zki Cemetery.
