Ambeon is one of the many projects of the Dutch musician Arjen Anthony
Lucassen. Featuring the vocals of Astrid van der Veen, Ambeon's atmospheric
sound draws from a wide variety of influences, including Celtic, gothic and
progressive music. The songs on Ambeon's album are mostly composed of
different remixed pieces of songs from Ayreon albums. The lyrics are
original, and were written by van der Veen; their first and only album, to
date, was recorded when she was just 14 years old.
Etymology The name Ambeon is a Portmanteau; the words Ambient and Ayreon
are put together to form the name Ambeon. As the music of the tracks, sans
vocals, are based on previous Ayreon songs, it could be said that this band
is Ambient Ayreon.Ambeon is a mixture of Ambient-Metal and Alternative.
