Andy Breckman (born March 3, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is the creator and executive producer of the television series Monk, on the USA Network. He was previously a member of the writing staff of Saturday Night Live and Late Night With David Letterman. One of Breckman's most famous TV comedy sketches was a Saturday Night Live segment called "White Like Me" (which he also directed), where Eddie Murphy disguises himself as a Caucasian man for a day. Breckman dropped out of Boston University in his freshman year to try his hand at stand-up comedy and folk singing.
