The Nickelodeon animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants premiered on May 1, 1999 and is currently in its fifth season. Four of the seasons have received complete DVD releases, and half of the fifth season is available. Episodes There are 97 full episodes, which consist of two eleven-minute shorts or three seven-minute shorts. One season five short, titled Le Big Switch, currently does not have a "partner short", thus making the total number of episodes 97 and one-half. Season One (1999-2000) Season one aired from 1 May 1999 to 8 April 2000. Season Two (2000-2002) Season two was shown from 2 November 2000 to 12 October 2001. Season Three (2002-2004) Season three was screened 22 March 2002 to 11 October 2004. Season Four (2005-2007) Season four was broadcast from 6 May 2005 to 31 March 2007.
