    As Tall as Lions
    As Tall as Lions, sometimes referred to as ATAL, is a band from Long Island, New York. The band was founded sometime in early 2002 as members of a previous band, Sundaze, were looking for a fresh start. These members were Dan Nigro (vocals, guitar, piano), Saen Fitzgerald (guitar, drums), and Cliff Sarcona (drums). During the recording of their first EP, titled Blood and Aphorisms, Brian Fortune (guitar, piano) was added to the band. "Blood and Aphorisms" met with small local success as the band began to tour around and make a name for itself in the thriving indie rock community. At this time, ATAL added Brian Caesar (bass) to the lineup. The band was seen as a unique entity inside of the indie scene, not necessarily fitting in creatively with the other emo bands, but never failing to win over the emo fans. This uniqueness was enough for ATAL to score a record deal with New York City's Triple Crown Records. Th
