Overview Autobot City is a city in the fictional Transformers Universe. Autobot City on Earth was a center of operations for the Autobots, and later the primary base following the destruction of The Ark. Large enough to house possibly hundreds of transformers, it had laboratories, communications decks, command centers, and meeting rooms. It also had the ability to transform into a heavily armored fortress capable of holding off a sustained full-force Decepticon attack for over 24 hours. A smaller sub-section of the city can transform into the giant Autobot warrior, Metroplex. In some continuities Metroplex is the entire city, and not just a subsection. The cartoon varied on this as well from episode to episode. The destruction of his transformation cog in the opening stages of the Battle of Autobot City necessitated that the city be manually transformed to battle station mode.
