    Barbara Pittman (April 25, 1943 - October 29, 2005) in Memphis, Tn. was one of the few female singers to record at Sun Studio. As a young teenager she recorded some demos of songs for others. She was around the Studio a lot and was a friend of almost all who recorded there. She did records of her own. Barbara performed on many tours with the other performers who were popular at the time. Her most popular recordings were "I Need A Man" on the Sun label and "Two Young Fools In Love", released on Sam Phillips' International label. It is thought that she could have had much more success except that she did not receive much promotion. Barbara always loved singing. As a child she spent time at her uncle's pawn shop on Beale Street. She heard the blues music there. She really became serious after winning a talent contest.
