    Billy Currington (born William Matthew Currington, November 19, 1973) is an American country singer-songwriter. Signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2003, Currington made his debut on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts with the Top 10 single "Walk a Little Straighter". To date, Currington has recorded two studio albums, and has charted seven singles (including two Number Ones) on the Billboard country singles charts. Biography Early Life & Rise to Success Billy was born and raised in Rincon, Georgia, United States. He has four sisters and two brothers. He currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee. His mother married Larry Currington when he was only one and a half years old. For the next few years Currington suffered abuse from his alcoholic father, who later died from cancer.
