Biography Black Kids
Black Kids are an American indie rock band. They formed in Jacksonville,
Florida in March 2006.
History The group consists of Owen Holmes on bass guitar, Kevin Snow on
drums, Dawn Watley and Ali Youngblood on keyboards and vocals, and Reggie
Youngblood on guitar and vocals. After forming in 2006, Black Kids began
playing shows in Jacksonville as a supporting act for bands coming through
town, such as Tilly and the Wall, Elf Power, and Gil Mantera's Party Dream.
On August 11, 2007, the band performed at Athens Popfest in Athens,
Georgia. Black Kids' performance was well received, leading to attention
from the rock press and blogosphere. Soon the band received coverage in
NME, Vice, The Guardian, and The Village Voice, among others.
