Bonnie Somerville (born February 24, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York, United States) is an actress who has had roles in a number of movies and television series, most notably NYPD Blue, Grosse Pointe, Friends, and The O.C.. Born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, by her mother and large Irish Catholic family. Bonnie started acting and singing at a young age, appearing in all the high school plays at Poly Prep Country Day School in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She attended Boston College as a Musical Theater major, and returned home upon completing her education in order to try acting professionally. At the age of 17, Bonnie had a development deal to sing her own music and sang with many bands in the New York city music scene. She was noticed by a modeling scout while waiting tables in New York and did some modeling in New York and Europe, only to return even more determined to succeed as an actress.
