The Crack Rock Steady 7 is a band of seven musicians of the New York City "crack rocksteady" scene, most of which are the current members of Leftöver Crack. The members of the Crack Rock Steady 7 also made up bands such as Choking Victim, Morning Glory, INDK, Niño Zombi, Star Fucking Hipsterz, and No Commercial Value. They get the name from the pre-reggae genre rocksteady, and their obsession with crack cocaine. The Crack Rock Steady 7 have had one release under that name, A split album entitled "Baby Jesus Sliced Up in the Manger" with band F-minus. Leftöver Crack sometimes play under the guise of the Crack Rock Steady 7 at venues where Leftöver Crack has been banned. Today, the CRS7 generally refers to two different entities: the first being The Infested with Scott Sturgeon on vocals and the second being a collaboration between Sturgeon and Mexican ska/punk band Niño Zombi, aptly titled the Crack Rock Steady 7 Mexico.
