Dark at Dawn is a power metal band from Germany. They formed in 1993.
According to their official website, they mostly played Slayer and
Metallica songs in their early days. The band differs from others in the
genre, mostly due to Thorsten Kohlrausch's low-register vocals.
The band released several independent EPs before teaming up with Iron
Glory records in 1999. Their label debut, Baneful Skies, was released on
November 29, 1999.
As of now, according to the band webpage, there are only three members of
the group: Michael Lowin - Bass, Thorsten Kohlrausch - Voice, and Torsten
Sauerbrey - Drums, Guitars. Friends and ex-members play guitar for live
performance.
