Dark Fortress is a melodic black metal band from Landshut, Germany, formed in 1994. They have released four studio albums, a split album and a demo album. Their latest work is Séance, released in 2006. On May 13, 2007, they fired their vocalist, Azatoth due to various non-musical reasons and probably they are going to cancel their live stage for the Summer Breeze Open Air and Kaltenbach Open Air festivals. They will begin recording on their new album "Scum" in February 2007 for 2007 or 2008 release via Century Media Records.
