David Karsten Daniels was born in Lubbock, Texas on August 20th, 1979. His younger years were spent in Montgomery, Alabama and Dallas, Texas where he pursued his artistic abilities relentlessly. After growing up religiously frustrated, David began to study jazz, improvisation, and performance art. After obtaining his Bachelors degree from Southern Methodist University, where he studied in Paris, France as well as the states, David lived in Portland, Oregon. Deciding that Chapel Hill, North Carolina was the best place to pursue his music, the Bu_hanan Collective was formed by David and longtime friends and band mates, David Hart and Alex Lazara.
