DJ Amok aka Benjamin Arend (* 8. August 1981 in San Francisco) is a DJ and producer in the genre Techno. Biography Inspired by visits to techno partys in his home town Frankfurt, Germany, Benjamin Arend began producing his own tracks at age 18 and uploaded them to the then popular site mp3.com. He quickly gained the reputation of being one of the greatest new talents, and as a result started his DJ career. From beginning on he played a very hard style, and he is regarded as one of the founding fathers of the German Hardtechno scene, which itself derived from Schranz. He has since played at many big festivals in Europe, such as I Love Techno, Awakenings, Decibel, Q-Base, Time Warp. As of 2007, he runs three record labels as well as a booking agency for Techno DJs and continues to enjoy popularity as a DJ.
