Don Salsa is an offshoot/project band of the group Estradasphere. Music Their first album was the 1997 release, Koolaid Moustache in Jonestown. Like Estradasphere, Don Salsa is an experimental band. As such, its tracks range from 53 seconds long to over 31 minutes, often spanning several musical genres. Their influences range from Rod Stewart and The Beach Boys to Romanian Gypsy Music, Spy Music, Death Metal, and more, and sometimes space is filled with random unidentifiable noise. They are one example of a modern Progressive Rock band. Metal music has been known to branch out into various specific sub-genres, such as Death Metal, Black Metal, and so on. Don Salsa is the first known band to explore Domestic Violence Metal as one of its genres, where couples' fights are recorded through HVAC systems and put to metal music. While this could be interpreted as ridicule, it is most likely the band's way of encouraging peaceful relationships.
