El Perro del Mar is a musical project that was founded in December 2003 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The sole member of El Perro del Mar, Sarah Assbring, initially started as an mp3/cdr-artist and released her first songs through Hybris. Though not as markedly sensual, the relaxed, care-free music itself and the sombre yet child-like vocals suggest something along the lines of a melancholic Jane Birkin. At the same time, the definitive lo-fi and synthpop production elements effectively contemporize her albums.
