Eugene Ripper is Canadian singer songwriter, modern rock guitarist and
multimedia producer from Toronto Ontario. He is a former member of
Canadian punk new wave act Stark Naked and the Fleshtones (1979 -1984).
After going solo in 1985, Ripper distinguished himself as a recording
artist/live performer within the Canadian music scene. Twice nominated as
best indie artist (1987, 1988) at the CFNY (102.1 The Edge) Casby Awards
and Q 107 Toronto Music Award nominations as best folk musician (1987,
1988). Highlights of live appearances include appearing on the main stage
of the 2nd annual EdgeFest at Molson Park in Barrie Ontario (1988) and at
The Great Canadian Party at Thunderbird Stadium (1992). He also appeared
three times at The Mariposa Folk Festival (1988,1992,1995).
He is also known for producing the Fast Folk Underground concert series.
