Slipknot is the major label debut album by Slipknot. It was released on
June 29 1999 by Roadrunner Records. A digipak version was released on
March 7 2000. This was followed by a "clean" version which was left
completely uncensored, and contained a note in the booklet claiming
censorship as being "the absolute fascism of America." Many of the tracks
borrowed musical compositions from Slipknot's independently-released debut
album, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat.
The album was essentially a re-recording of some old demos with some new
songs like "Eyeless" being recorded as well.
"Frail Limb Nursery" and "Purity" were accused of copyright infringement
and removed as they are based on a fictional crime story; they were
replaced with "Me Inside." The iTunes version of the album has "Eeyore"
listed and downloadable as a separate track. The clean version was
released on March 14 (although it was actually not edited at all); the
