    Gas Club
Gas Club are a four-piece indie band from Sheffield, England and formed in 2005. Taking their name from Malin Bridge Sports and Social Club (formerly, and still known as 'The Gas Club') at the bottom of Stannington Road. The vast majority of their lyrics are written by Tim (vocals/guitar) but everybody has more than a say in the music writing (particularly their own instruments). Tims voice is deep and destinctive and their songs have a dark gripping sound that is strangely upbeat and has seen them compared to Interpol. They describe their music as being "slightly euphoric, slightly moody, indie based music"; their influences are Pixies, Alabama 3, Bonnie Prince Billy, The Cure, The Wild Swans, Joy Division, Teardrop Explodes, Nick Cave, The doors, The Durutti Column, Echo and The Bunnymen and more recently The Strokes, The Libertines, etc- Previously they have supported Harrisons (Tim's sibling Ben Stanton plays guitar in Harrisons),
