Jamelia Niela Davis (born on 11 January 1981), better known as Jamelia, is a Mercury Music Prize nominated English R&B and pop singer-songwriter who found fame in early 2000 after impressing music executives at Parlophone Records with self-written a cappella songs. She has gone on to become one of the UK's most successful solo female artists, whose second album, Thank You, achieved double platinum status in late 2004 after sales in excess of 580,000. In addition, Jamelia has won four MOBO Awards
