    James Gilstrap is one of the backing vocalists for Stevie Wonder's Wonderlove as well as the opening lines of "You Are the Sunshine of My Life". He also provided vocals in the mid-1970s with Swing Your Daddy, Love Talk, the song "I'm on Fire", and "Run Run Run" with the group Northern Soul and recorded vocals for UK songstress Elkie Brooks. He can be heard in a solo vocal performance on Quincy Jones' 1974 jazz/funk composition "Buffalo Soldier" off of the Body Heat album. Gilstrap has also provided the male lead vocals for the 1970s hit TV show Good Times theme song, and provided backing vocals for Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Willy DeVille, and other top artists.
