Joe Lynn Turner (JLT) born August 2, 1951 in Hackensack, New Jersey, was
the singer for Fandango and two hard rock groups: Rainbow (1980-1984;
break-up) and Deep Purple (1989-1992). He was also a songwriter and has
also worked with famous guitarists Yngwie Malmsteen and Ritchie Blackmore
of Deep Purple. He sang for Malmsteen on his greatly successful album
Odyssey (1988). The brief tour that followed the release of the album
featured a concert in Leningrad which was recorded and then released
asTrial by Fire (1989). In 1989 he left the band to join up his
ex-bandmates Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover in their band Deep Purple.
With Deep Purple Joe recorded the album Slaves & Masters. The album's sound
was different to the traditional Deep Purple sound, and although it sounded
fresh the fans did not like it. The tour supporting the album was
