    John and Mary
    John and Mary is a U.S. folk music act featuring Mary Ramsey and John Lombardo, formed after Lombardo left 10,000 Maniacs in 1986 due to "creative and political" disagreements with the band. The pair were the opening act for the Maniacs on the Hope Chest Tour in 1990. They released the albums Victory Gardens in 1991, and The Weedkiller's Daughter in 1993. Both joined (or re-joined) the Maniacs as full-time members in 1994. They released the album The Pinwheel Galaxy in September 2002. After the death of the Maniacs' lead guitar player Robert Buck (who was replaced by Jeff Erickson) in November 2002, Ramsey was replaced with singer Oskar Saville from the Chicago-based band Rubygrass. Lombardo quit the group and it went on as a 5-piece until Ramsey was rehired as a viola player and backing vocalist for the 2006 shows.
