John Frizzell, aka John B. Frizell, or John Frizell II (IMDB), not to be
confused with composer John C. Frizzell
Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, John B. Frizzell is a screenwriter,
story editor, script doctor and consultant who began his career in
Toronto, but now lives and works in L.A . Mr. Frizzell often co-produces
and occasionally directs.
After several years writing, directing and co-producing the controversial
prime-time documentary series A Different Understanding for TVOntario,
John Frizzell joined partners Niv Fichman, Barbara Willis Sweete and Larry
Weinstein to found the Canadian production company Rhombus Media, (32 Short
Films About Glenn Gould, Red Violin). He left Rhombus in the mid-eighties
to pursue a career in writing.
His first script was the Gemini-nominated drama I Love A Man In A Uniform
for the CBC's For The Record series. This was followed by several
award-winning scripts for the C.B.C'S prime-time anthology
