    John Goodsall
    John Goodsall is a jazz fusion guitarist most noted for his work with 1970s jazz-rock band Brand X. He also started a more rock-oriented side project, Fire Merchants, with Doug Lunn and Chester Thompson, in 1989. Goodsall began playing guitar at age 7. At 15, he became a professional musician and joined Carol Grimes' Babylon, with members ofJoe Cocker's Grease Band,Juicy Lucy and John Hiseman's Coliseum. He then toured extensively, first with The Alan Bown Set, then (as "Johnny Mandala") with Atomic Rooster. After Brand X's 1979 World tour (the last with Phil Collins), Goodsall moved to Los Angeles and worked as a session musician. He worked with artists including Bill Bruford, Peter Gabriel, Billy Idol, Bryan Adams, Toni Basil, Mark Isham, and released two albums with his solo band Fire Merchants, before reforming with Brand X and recording X-communication and Manifest Destiny.
