Karnivool is a five-piece music group from Perth, Western Australia. Their music style is a combination of melodic progressive rock and alternative rock, with alternative metal influences. Major influences of the band are Nirvana, Meshuggah and Carcass. Biography Tours Formed in 1998, Karnivool have since released several singles and one EP, and most recently their debut album Themata. Notable performances include playing at the Big Day Out Festival in Perth twice, as well as performing at the Rock-It Festival. They toured with Cog shortly after the release of Themata and since have toured Australia extensively on their own headline tours. Karnivool, along with Ankla, is currently supporting Skindred and Nonpoint on the Great American Rampage Tour. On the 21st of November, they announced that they were playing at the Big Day Out 2008.
