Maxine Brown (born April 27 1932 in Campti, Louisiana) is an American
country music singer, who was originally a member of the successful singing
group, The Browns.
While still a toddler, her family moved to a farm near Pine Bluff,
Arkansas. Encouraged by her parents, she began singing and performing at
local venues. As a singing duet with her younger brother Jim Ed Brown (born
James Edward Brown, 1 April 1934), she signed a recording contract in 1954.
Baby sister Bonnie Brown joined them in 1955, and the trio went on to
become a highly successful, and respected group, and members of the Grand
Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee until finally disbanding in 1967.
She published her autobiography, Looking Back to See, in 2005.
