Melissa McClelland (born 1979 in Chicago, Illinois, USA) is a singer-songwriter who lived in Burlington, Ontario, Canada in her youth, and now bases her career from Toronto. Her song "Rooftop" was featured on the 2005 soundtrack CD of the television series The Next Generation. The song was played on the ending montage of Degrassi's TNG 2004 Episode "Time Stands Still Pt. 2" where a main character Jimmy Brooks, played by Aubrey Graham was shot by a bullied student Rick Murray, played by Ephraim Ellis. She is also part of the Ladybird Sideshow. She recently performed as the opening act for Matthew Good's solo acoustic tour and more recently went on tour with guitarist Jesse Cook. She also worked previously with Sarah McLachlan, providing backing vocals at her live shows.
