Biography


m-flo is a Japanese hip hop group consisting of producer and DJ Taku Takahashi and emcee VERBAL as of 2002, ever since the former member Lisa left the group. As to the origins of the group's name, VERBAL had explained that it was originally "mediarite-flow," an intended misspelling of meteorite, but for the Japanese that name was too long, and so Avex had requested that the name be shortened to m-flo. VERBAL had commented that "There's no deep meaning to it. I guess we wanna have impact like a meteorite." Band members Taku Takahashi Aliases: ?TAKU, Taku Takahashi, StartakBorn Taku Takahashi in Yokohama City, Japan on March 29, 1974. Taku and VERBAL met in Setagaya-ku's St. Mary's International School (Class of 1993). Outside of the m-flo umbrella, Taku has produced tracks for such artists as Crystal Kay and melody.
