Moev is an electronic music group specializing in synthpop that recorded on the Nettwerk Records label. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia their most successful album was Yeah Whatever in 1989, which combined dark, solemn, anthemic lyrics with disjointed beats, trickling electronics, and occasional spoken-word samples. Over the band's lifetime, members included Cal Stephenson, Mark Jowett, Tom Ferris, Kelly Cook, Dean Russell, Anthony Valcic, Madelaine Morris, Michella Arichiello, and Andy Graffiti. In conjunction with Terry McBride, Jowett formed the record label Nettwerk to release the band's albums. Nettwerk has since grown into one of the largest and most important Canadian independent record labels. Jowett has also been credited with discovering the young Sarah McLachlan.
