Biography New Vision
New Vision is one of two main national newspapers in Uganda.
It was established in its current form in the 1980s by the government, a
stake of about 80% of the newspaper is state-owned. New Vision is broadly
sympathetic to the government of President Yoweri Museveni. The newspaper
was called Uganda Argus, then a colonial government publication, until the
1970s. It then changed to Voice of Uganda, Uganda Times before it was named
New Vision. The Uganda Argus and those that followed in its stead, always
presented as the "official" newspaper of the regime in power.[LINK:
