Ohene (pronounced Ô-hen-e) is a hip-hop artist and keyboard based producer
that splits his time between Philadelphia and Ghana and is one of the few
(if not the only) rappers classically trained in piano. At the age of
twelve he began playing piano, memorizing the cords of Bach, Mozart and
Handel under the director of his uncle, a noted classical pianist in Ghana.
At the age of 15 he left the amateur ranks and began performing at some of
Ghana's biggest events.
In 2003 he returned to Philadelphia and was quickly recognized as one of
underground rap's most talented. Ohene's first two releases, The Rapademics
(2006) - a scientific and mathematical approach to Hip-Hop, studied in
several universities (including University of Delaware, University of
Pennsylvania, Temple University, and Virginia Tech) - and Inner City Soul
(2006) - a spiritual and social approach to Hip-Hop - are two expressions
of his well-roundedness and have received praise f
