Pale Saints began their existence as a three-piece jangly indie pop band, influenced by the early Primal Scream sound, later developing in a more ethereal pop direction. Forming in 1987 in Leeds, England, the band was signed to 4AD Records records after their first London show by 4AD chief Ivo.
