Paula Koivuniemi (b. June 19 1947, Seinäjoki) is a Finnish singer who started her singing career in 1960's. Koivuniemi released her first hit single "Perhonen" (Butterfly) in 1966. In 70's her career was in decline, but during 1980's she had many hit singles in Finland - she received nine gold albums and one diamond album. She have had few hits in 1990's and in 21th century. She has many young fans, and has became a gay icon because of her youthful style.
