Pissing Razors was a heavy metal band who origanlly formed in the late 80's. The band originally was named "Back Door Cyclops" but decided to change it's name and style of music to incorporate more raw sounding vocals. The new name originated from the band's original lead vocalist who contracted a case of gonorrhea from a whore house in Juarez, Mexico. He was quoted as claiming it felt like he was "pissing razors". In the early 90's, the bands original drummer, Danny Garcia decided to move from El Paso, TX to New York City, NY. Danny's brother, Eddy took this opportunity to switch from playing guitar to drums. Matt Lynch then moved from bass guitar to lead guitar and Rick Valles was then hired as the new bass player. Together with Joe Rodriguez, this line up proved to be progressive. In 1997, the band was signed to England-based Noise Records and released thier self titled CD the following year. Five more albums were released from 1999 to 2003.
