"Prowler" is the first track from the band's debut album Iron Maiden.
Believed to be one of the first songs written by Steve Harris. The song
appeared on the original Maiden demo The Soundhouse Tapes but had been a
part of the band's song list far longer.
The song is about a streaker who apparently likes to masturbate in front
of women, as suggested by the lyrics "Got me feelin' myself?" The solo in
the song is played by Dave Murray.
The song was played at almost every concert during the band's early years
up until the World Peace Tour 83' where it was played only a few times. The
song has since fallen out of regular use, though it is still considered to
be one of their famous songs. During the release of The Early Days DVD the
band performed "Prowler" during every performance of the Early Days Tour.
