Biography Red Riders
Red Riders are a rock band from Sydney, Australia. After releasing two
EPs, they released their debut album in October 2006.
History Guitarists and singers, Adrian Deutsch and Alex Grigg first met at
a Black Rebel Motorcycle Club gig. Afterwards, Deutsch asked childhood
friend Matt Chapman, who was then residing in New Zealand to join and play
bass though he had never played bass before. Chapman then met drummer Tom
Wallace on the flight back to Australia.
After playing a number of live shows - including a highly coveted Franz
Ferdinand support spot - they signed to Ivy League Records.
With much airplay on national youth radio station Triple J, Red Rider's
single "Slide In Next To Me" was voted in at number 96 in the 2006 Hottest
100.
Red Riders have toured with such bands as Dappled Cities Fly, End of
Fashion, and performing at the Pauhaus Festival in Brisbane in 2007.
