Rough Cutt was an 80's Metal band. The group itself was the birthchild of a collaboration between Paul Shortino, Dave Alford and Ronnie James Dio who was at the time with Black Sabbath. Though Dio never really sang with the group he greatly influenced the outcome of the up and coming act. Though at first some say their best was the dark image they first produced on their self titled debut album with songs like "Kids Will Rock" and "Black Widow". Rough Cutt though never really coming to full light was a virtual mammoth of a blip on the metal radar. Many members coming and going over the years and always moving on to higher regards with bands like Whitesnake, Dio and Ozzy Osbourne Band. Even at one time being regarded as the 80's era Iron Butterfly. Rough Cutt featured singer Paul Shortino, who for a while replaced the late Kevin DuBrow in Quiet Riot.
