Calcium peroxide can be used in agriculture to release oxygen into soils or as a seed pretreatment. It also stimulates the aerobic microbial degradation of hydrocarbons in contaminated groundwater and soil. Consumers would be exposed to only very small amounts of calcium peroxide in consumer product applications such as toothpastes.
