Scars Of Life or SOL were a five-piece Alternative metal band from Pompano Beach, Florida, USA. They began in 2000 but re-named after the lead singer left and became Burning Red. History Mute In late 2000, the band Confined (also a metal group from Florida) broke up and four of the five members decided to form Scars Of Life. After the recording of SOL's debut Mute bassist Al Torres would decide to leave the band to found death metal act EverSincevE. He would continue on as bassist until a suitable replacement could be found. A few months later, close friend of the band, Mike Kennedy would join the ranks filling the vacant bass slot. Now that the band had a stable line up they began playing at small venues across Florida gradually building up a reputation. This led to them releasing their first CD, Mute.
