Shiri Maimon (Hebrew: ???? ?????; born May 18, 1981) is an Israeli singer
and actress, who rose to fame as the runner-up in the TV reality show
Kokhav Nolad ("A Star is Born") (the Israeli version of the British Pop
Idol), and represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005.
Biography Maimon was born in Haifa, Israel, and raised in Kiryat Haim.
Her mother is Moroccan and her father, Tunisian. She made her debut at the
age of ten, at a children's song festival. In 2001, she appeared in a music
video of the band Teapacks. Later, she worked for a year and a half as a
singer and bartender in Eilat.
Israel's Eurovision delegate In 2005, Maimon took part in the Kdam
Eurovision, the pre-Eurovision song contest at which Israel's national
entry is selected, and was not the favorite to win. Against the odds, she
won first place, scoring 116 out of 120 points for her performance of
Hasheket
