Biography Silvertide

Silvertide
Silvertide is a rock band hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

History

Silvertide was formed in January 2001 in Northeast Philadelphia. At first, Silvertide (which was originally called Vertigo) was signed by Legendary Clive Davis' J Records. They released their first EP "American Excess" in 2002. Their first full album, Show and Tell, was released in 2004.

2006

Due to scheduling troubles, Silvertide canceled all of their upcoming performances. In a statement made through MySpace, fans were told:

"Some of you have asked about rumors of Silvertide canceling their upcoming tour. The rumors are TRUE. All future Silvertide tour dates are canceled and the band is going back into the studio to record their next record. The circumstances are odd and the story is long-winded but the bright side is that next time you see the band you'll hear all new stuff. We look forward to seeing everyone in the summer."

In February 2006 the band made their second appearance on the cover of Origivation Magazine. The photoshoot took place while the band was in preproduction for their next album.

In an interview on WMMR the band revealed that they had recorded 25 demos for the upcoming album. They joked about naming it "Kill the Coyote", and revealed two demos named "Still Breathing" and "Hey Now".

In the summer of 2004, the band made appearances with Van Halen in such hotspots as Pittsburgh, and their hometown of Philadelphia.

M. Night Shyamalan, a horror/mystery director raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, had Silvertide featured in his movie, Lady in the Water. Silvertide was featured on the soundtrack with their covers of Bob Dylan's Maggie's Farm and It Ain't Me, Babe.

In 2006, the band prepared to launch a new website to satisfy the needs of their fans with live videos and recordings as well as up to date news and photo galleries. With a pending October Launch date fans greatly anticipated the release. As November wore on into December with no new posts on their myspace official website and no sign of silvertidelive.com launching the band slipped into oblivion propelling rumors of an impending breakup and feuds within the band.

Silvertidelive.com is now up and running and is the place for all things silvertide.

There is also news of a new album to be released in mid 2008.
