Sin 34, punk rock band from Los Angeles
Formed in Santa Monica in 1981 by teenage punk fans; singer Julie Lanfeld,
drummer/ filmmaker Dave Markey, and bassist Phil Newman went through a few
guitarists (Mike Vallejo of Circle One, Chris Pederson star of "Suburbia",
and Scott Silverman) before finding permanence in Mike "Geek" Glass in the
fall of ?81. Named from a local LA television station (Spanish
International Network, channel 34). The band released its first single, a
five track EP titled ?Die Laughing? on Newman?s independent label,
Spinhead Records in 1982, and this lead to many a gig with the likes of
the Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, Social Distortion, Redd
Kross, The Minutemen, DOA, & Bad Religion. The band recorded for a series
of compilations including ?Charred Remains?, We Got Power?s ?Party Or Go
Home?, & Gary Kail?s ?Life is Boring?. In 1983 the band recorded and
