"Taxman" is the title of a song by The Beatles, appearing on the Revolver
album, based on a common personification of tax collection agencies such as
the HM Customs and Excise, the Inland Revenue or the Internal Revenue
Service. The song's writer, George Harrison, performs the role of a taxman
on the song in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

he discovered how much he was earning after accounting for taxes. As
Harrison said, "'Taxman' was when I first realised that even though we had
