The Arrogant Sons of Bitches

The Arrogant Sons of Bitches (ASOB for short) formed in 1995 and were a 6 piece ska punk band originally from Long Island, New York and located in Baldwin, Nassau County, New York. The band had strong DIY roots, self releasing two albums and two EPs. While teaming with Kill Normal Records the band released it's next EP, as well as re-releasing it's complete discography on one disc, and it's final full length, Three Cheers for Disappointment. Later, Jeff Rosenstock, the band's frontman, used his own label, Quote Unquote Records, to release the band's live Halloween show, which exclusively featured covers of Radiohead songs.

Throughout 2006 evidence of a break-up surfaced on Quote Unquote Records, which listed Rosenstock as their ex-frontman, and in a blog entry, Rosenstock himself called ASOB his "old band" . In an October 11th, 2006 interview Rosenstock was quoted as saying "I'm pretty sure they're not continuing band without me," citing that "most of them have jobs that don't permit them to do that," http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=178785. But at midnight on April 1st 2007 the band announced a fall 2007 reunion show via Myspace and asobrock.com. Because of the date (April Fools' Day), fans questioned it's truthfullness, but follow-up announcements via MySpace confirmed it to be true. The Knitting Factroy show sold out in under seven hours, and amassed over ten pages of "will-call" tickets, a previously unexperienced phenomena for the show's venue. The band played their farewell show the following night at the Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY.
