    The Bates
    The Bates was a punk band, known especially for its cover versions, founded in 1987 by Hesse Eschwege. The group's name refers to the character Norman Bates from the Alfred Hitchcock's film Psycho. The Bates published at least two cover versions alongside original compositions on each of their albums. Due to the fact that the cover versions were particularly well received, the band released in the year 2000 an album, 2nd Skin, with different style included. The Beatles (Helter Skelter), Rolling Stones (Out of time), Sailor (Glass of Champagne), Aneka (Japanese Boy) and Eiffel 65 (Blue) were covered in the album in typical Bates style. The biggest commercial successes of Bates include, among other things, the songs Hello (Turn Your Radio On) (1994), Billie Jean (1994), A Real Cool Time (1995), It's Getting Dark (1996) and Independent Love Song (1
