    The Black Velvets is a blues rock band from Liverpool, England. Members · Paul Carden - vocals · Robbie Ross - guitar · Dave Dutton - bass guitar · Nick Kilroe - drums History The Black Velvets formed in 2002 by drummer Nick Kilroe and bass player Dave Dutton, who joined together after their previous bands split up. Nick was in the Oasis-wannabes The Northern Souls, and Dave was in The Skylarks. The Skylarks released an 8-song album in Japan in 2002, titled "Death Of The 20th Century Man". Paul Molloy of The Skylarks would later join The Stands Nick and Dave hooked up with vocalist Paul Carden and guitarist Robbie Ross, and began crafting a riff-driven, deep beat classic glam rock sound, and organised showcase gigs at the Cavern Club.
