The Gourds are an American alternative country and bluegrass band, formed
in Austin, Texas in 1994.
They are best known for their 1998 cover version of Snoop Dogg's "Gin and
Juice" originally released on their Gogitchyershinebox EP. This track
achieved great popularity during the heyday of Napster, though it was
widely mislabeled as recorded by either the jam-rock band Phish or the
Soggy Bottom
