In planetary geology, a tholus (pl. tholi) is the term used to describe a
small domical mountain or hill.
Examples of a tholus
· Hecates Tholus Tholus or tholi are present on the surface of Mars.
They are formed from pyroclastic actvity. The size of a tholus can be
50-150 km in diameter and 1-2km high.
